Saor Kamal

Saor Kamal lost his leg to cancer in 1996. For many years, he used a prosthetic limb with a locked knee - which gave him no flexion or extension. Like many individuals in Bangladesh, Saor needs to walk frequently to travel where he is going. For years he had difficulty holding down a job because of his hip and thigh pain, due to using a prosthetic limb with a locked knee joint.

That all changed in 2006 with the arrival of the LIMBS team in Bangladesh. Saor was fitted with the LIMBS Knee in the summer of 2006, and since then, his pain has disappeared. He has learned how to walk with a more natural gait using the LIMBS Knee, and walks five miles a day to his job. He still has the same hardware from the knee that he was fitted with in 2006, and the knee is still is in excellent condition. Despite all of his walking with the LIMBS Knee since 2006, Saor has had virtually no problems with his knee joint whatsoever.
